Overview

Maintaining muscle mass and health in post-menopausal women is critical and achievable through progressive resistance training and adequate protein intake, which many currently neglect. Existing food-tracking apps demand extensive user input, leading to low compliance, while resistance training apps often cater to the already trained, lacking simplicity for beginners. The application is designed to address these gaps and includes novel features including an innovative protein tracking method, a simplified resistance training tracker with progression cues, integration with Apple Watch/iPhone for comprehensive health metric analysis, and a platform for hosting experiment-specific instructional videos and exercise suggestions. These features enhance user compliance, potentially boosting muscle health in women during this crucial life stage. In collaboration with Stanford’s Program in Menopause and Healthy Aging, OB/GYN clinic, and Wu Tsai Performance Alliance, the app will be integral to a fall 2024 study focused on improving women’s health post-menopause.

Features

Protein Intake Tracker

The ring on the homepage (first screen) shows the amount of protein intake for a particular day, and it fills up as the user logs more protein intake, either via the Pro Bot (second screen) or the Food Image Classifier (fourth screen). Users can also view their protein intake on a weekly basis and see how it compares to the daily target.

Workout Tracker and Resources

Stronger suggests workouts for users based on their onboarding questionnaire results (left screen), and users are required to complete workouts before they are able to move onto the next day's workout. They can enter specifics about their workouts, including reps, resistance, and difficulty, and they can access workout videos to follow along with as well.
