Overview

The Nourish Navigator is an innovative, interactive application designed to address the unmet clinical need of individuals with Avoidant/Restrictive Food and Intake Disorder (ARFID) and other high-need populations struggling with low weight. This comprehensive tool offers education, a systematic approach, and behavior modification strategies to support patients in overcoming barriers to full nutrition and achieving optimal health. Tailored specifically for ARFID patients, the Nourish Navigator serves as a vital support system for individuals, their parents, and the medical team. Unlike traditional eat-replace models used for Anorexia, this application provides a unique and personalized approach, fostering a fuller life by enabling users to attain the energy needed for their most important activities.

Features

Three iPhone screens against a white background, showing the Nourish homepage with green buttons and logo, a calendar with white, green, and yellow colored blocks, and a chat for new food entries.

Personalized Block Plan

Using questions from the Onboarding Questionnaire, Nourish will customize the number of blocks and calories per block for each user, to help each user slowly adjust their food intake during recovery from ARFID.

Visual Progress Over Time

The ladder block plan highlights green and yellow colors to visualize caloric intake for the current week, and users can view their progress over time by scrolling across the calendar. Green indicates that the user met the caloric intake for that particular meal (forward filling), and yellow indicates that the user made up missing calories during a later meal (backfilling).

3 iPhone screenshots with a white background. The left screen shows a scrollable calendar view per day showing caloric intake blocks. The middle screen shows an example of adding a food entry in a modal. The last screen is a toolbox with buttons for action strategies, wisdom and inspiration, distraction strategies, and all topics.

Manual and Chat-based Meal Logging

Nourish provides a seamless chat interface to automatically log what was eaten. Users can also manual log what they ate and specify what percentage of the meal they ate.

Tailored Support Videos and Resources

Based on user roadblocks collected from the onboarding questionnaire and caloric intake data, Nourish provides action and distraction strategies, support videos, and other resources to supplement the user's recovery process.
